Madam,

I note that from your articles on Emergency Roadside Toilets (18 April) that our local council regards them as a dangerous distraction to motorists.

The one I spotted was at a set of temporary traffic lights and in consideration of all the usual signage plus the street furniture associated with the works this was, in my opinion, the least likely to have caused distraction in a moving traffic line and the item and its labelling was really only readable when stationary.

Of all the means available to protesters, this would appear to have been very effective in getting the message across and the least confrontational or aggressive in nature.

We may be in danger of losing the public conveniences, but the council appears to be in danger of losing their sense of humour!

Yours etc
