Madam,

I am deeply concerned regarding the future of the adult training at Coleg Harlech and the courses which are now there for trainee nurses and social care.

These are the two sectors for which there is a shortage of staff in the area.

Moving the courses to places like Bangor or Caernarfon will have a detrimental effect on adult students who want to pursue both careers in the Meirionnydd and Ardudwy areas.

I know that the college does not have any resident students any more, but the students who do attend on a daily basis might not attend the courses if it means long-distance travelling.

This could serious affect recruitment in the nursing and caring sectors.

Yours etc,

Eryl Jones-Williams, Dyffryn Ardudwy.
