I wonder how Cllr Ray Quant is able to explain why the council frequently use the services of external advisers at considerable cost when “we have a talented group of staff - including our senior officers”.

We have a maze that is a failure, a paddling pool that doesn’t hold water, a bus station that had to be rebuilt, and Terrace Road having to be changed again.

In an adjoining column, it says council tax may be raised by seven per cent. Do I need to say more?
