Madam,
Reading Patrick O’Brien’s article in the Cambrian News of 26 September (a must) and listening to MPs being interviewed on TV, the total mess the country is in is down to ‘Brexiteers’. Those who believe in British Independence, are to blame.
I’m not sure how ‘Remainers’ work this out. Why would they? Why would those who voted (17.4 million) to leave the EU cause the problems we now see in Parliament?
You only have to watch coverage of the the House of Commons to realise that those shouting and baying for Boris Johnson’s blood are all Remainers. He is the only party leader in Parliament trying to achieve the referendum result.
Remainers are trying to turn the tables, with a certain amount of success. Advocating a second vote, when the first vote hasn’t even been implemented. Only the gullible believe that.
They don’t want a second vote or for No Deal to be taken off the table, they want to cancel Brexit.
A Remainer MP even brought the name of the murdered MP, Jo Cox, into the argument, whose constituency voted Leave.
Johnson did not mention her in his speech and rightly called the MP’s ranting as ‘humbug’.
In Ceredigion, 45.4 per cent voted to Leave and, unfortunately, both the Liberals and Plaid Cymru are Remain parties and want the UK to be ruled by the EU, whose objective is a Federal State.
Finally, I fail to understand why all opposition parties have been demanding a General Election for years and, as soon as the PM hands them this on a plate, they come up with all sorts of sort of excuses not to have an election. Surely ‘when’ they win they can simply reverse the referendum result. No, it’s not the Brexiteers causing the mayhem we are now witnessing, it is the Remainers who just cannot accept the referendum result. And, don’t get me onto the Supreme Court!
Yours etc, Chris Samuel, William Street, Aberystwyth.
