Why is M&S being singled out?

Madam,

I read the article about the Ceredigion planners’ requirement for M&S signage to be in Welsh with great interest.

Is this requirement the thin end of the wedge? There are many (too numerous to list) shops and businesses in Aberystwyth that do not have Welsh translation for their shop and business names. Will they too have to have translations? Why is M&S being singled out?
