All Natural Resources Wales sites and reserves are to be closed as the lockdown continues.

Following the announcement last night by Boris Johnson telling people to stay at home, Natural Resources Wales has today announced that all visitor centres, car parks, play areas and toilets at their reserves, woods and forests that they manage will be closed.

Mountain bike trails are also closed. No maintenance is being carried out until further notice on mountain bike trails.

This includes sites such as Nant yr Arian, near Ponterwyd; Cors Caron, near Tregaron; and Coed yr Brenin, near Dolgellau.

Gary White, incident manager at NRW, said: “We are dedicated to keeping the public, and our staff as safe as possible.

“We have closed all car parks, play areas and toilets in the reserves, woods and forests that we manage.

"We have also closed mountain bike trails and no maintenance is being carried out on them until further notice.

“NRW advice is to take care of yourself and others by following Public Health Wales and government guidance”.

“We need to avoid unnecessary travel, so make your walk a local one; do not get into your car to travel to one of the woods we manage. The walking trails in the woodlands remain open but you must exercise alone or with your own household and, if encountering other people, maintain the social distancing rule.”
