THE sisters of a woman killed by her partner at a remote farmhouse near Machynlleth last April have vowed to raise money for domestic abuse charities in her memory.

An inquest in December heard that Tracy Cockrell’s partner Nigel McGrath had been a “bully” and become “jealous and controlling” after accusing her of an affair.

McGrath, 45, killed 51-year-old Tracy before taking his own life.

Now, Tracy’s sisters Sharron Rogers and Cheryl Onions from Yorkshire will run the Asda Foundation Leeds 10k, on 9 July, in her memory, to raise funds for the domestic abuse charity Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre.

Cheryl said: “We were left devastated when Tracy was murdered by her jealous ex-partner.

“Sharron and I want to stop other families going through the same thing as ours, so we are running to not only raise funds, but to raise awareness of domestic abuse.

“We want to show people there is help out there; you don’t have to be alone.”
