ERYRI YFC has been to Garthmyn Isa, Maenan and Rhiwlas farm estate, Y Bala, to see how two different farms are steering their business and venturing into different things.

A small group of members were welcomed at Garthmyn Isa by Huw Owen and his wife Sian.

Garthmyn was not unfamiliar to the members as the Eryri YFC Rally was held there in 2016.

But since then a lot of alterations and changes have been made to the farm to extend the Wood Energy Wales business.

A demonstration of the wood chipper proved to be an “eye-opener”, and the members saw what work was able to be done in a small amount of time.

Members then moved to Bala to the Rhiwlas Farm estate and were welcomed by Sam Carey who has gone into farm share with the Price family and started milking on the estate.
