Madam,
I just wanted to update you on the music service in Ceredigion.
In the last learning scrutiny meeting, I was invited along with my fellow youth council member to the meeting in Aberaeron.
I read in last week’s Cambrian News that the council will “accommodate pupils to hear their opinions”.
This was as a result of myself and Huw from the youth council telling the members in the scrutiny meeting that young people need to be heard.
In the meeting they proposed that the young people who are involved with the music service will get 10-minute slots to express their opinions.
The young people will be given a chance to talk to the councillors and officers in the next meeting in Aberaeron.
Cllr Mark Strong was the person who carried the motion on behalf of myself and Huw which was passed unanimously by the councillors, and further information can be obtained from him.
I just want to make sure young people involved in the music service are informed about what happened in the meeting.
Yours etc, Tom Kendall, member of UK Youth Parliament for Ceredigion and member of Ceredigion Youth Council.
