A CRICCIETH farmer has been named as the young shepherd of the year.

Tomos Owen, 19, was named as the Young Shepherd Under 21 at the Welsh Sheep 2017 awards recently.

The top prize went to Ben Hamer, of Ffridd, Wrexham, with Dafydd Davies, from Parc near Bala, picking up second place.
