CAPTAIN Morgan Murray-Williams led his team to a comfortable win at Parc Bodegroes courtesy of an impressive outing with bat and bowl.

Striding to the crease after opener Tristan Coetzee was sent packing for 0 runs, caught by Aled Roberts off a Jonathan Byrd delivery, Murray-Williams hit an imperious 57 runs off 82 bowls including 11 fours.

His bowling game was equally as efficient, taking four wickets for a miserly 24 runs off 10 overs

Electing to bat first, Pwllheli posted 188 all out off 45.5 overs with wicket keeper Lawrance Barraclough also enjoying a productive day with the bat hitting 34 (3 fours), Craig Edwards 17 (4 fours), Ben Cowper 16, Chris Moore 10, and Syed Kaleem Aslam 12.

Wickets fell to Jonathan Byrd (3 for 42), Harry Williams (1 for 32), Daz Wilcock (1 for 24), Aled Roberts (4 for 44), and Ryan White (1 for 11).

In reply, Pontblyddyn posted 161 all out off 46 overs.

There were impressive knocks by number three Gethin Thomas 67 (6 fours, 1 six) and Jonathan Byrd 53 (9 fours) but it wasn’t enough to get over the line.

Pwllheli’s best bowling returns were posted by Murray-Williams (4 for 24) and Tristan Coetzee (5 for 39).
