LLECHRYD eased to a nine-wicket away win over winless Johnston in the Thomas Carroll Pembrokeshire League division two, after dismissing the hosts for 118.

After winning the toss and electing to field, the damage was done by evergreen Peter Betteley, who claimed 4 wickets for 28 runs from 12 overs, with 2 maidens.

His son James Betteley claimed 1 for 28 from his 10 overs, with 2 maidens, Rhys Beard took 1 for 17 from 7 overs, Graham Keen 1 for 39 from 7 overs, Andrew Fletcher 2 for 4 from 2 overs, and Michael Carter took the last wicket in his 1 for 0.

In reply, James Betteley was caught from the bowling of Liam James for 23, but fellow opener Michael Carter carried his bat for 53 not out and Joe Mansfield was on 35 not out when the winning runs were scored on 119 for 1 after 30.2 overs.

Keegan Codd bowled economically for 0 for 19 from 7 overs, with 3 maidens.

Division Two Results: Carew II (151) lost to Haverfordwest II (155) by 4 runs; Hook (147-4) beat Cresselly II (146-4) by 6 wkts; Johnston (118) lost to Llechryd (119-1) by 9 wkts; Kilgetty (147) lost to Narberth (225) by 78 runs; Pembroke Dock (185-8) drew with Pembroke (238-6).

• Llechryd Seconds made it a double for the club in division four as they recorded a 217 run win over basement side Haverfordwest Fourths at the RDM Oval.

Once again opener Ollie Roberts was in fine form for the Teifisiders in a superb innings of 110, and was supported by Rob Mansfield (35) and Tom Beard (24 not out) as they set a target of 292 for 5.

The visitors struggled from the word go and were all out for 75 as Duncan Blackburn (2 for 0), Tom Beard (2 for 15) and Neil Croucher (2 for 5) picked up two wickets apiece in a big win of 217 runs.

Division Four Results: Carew III (63) lost to Llanrhian II (154-7) by 91 runs; Llechryd II (292-5) beat Haverfordwest IV (75) by 217 runs; Neyland II (238-0) beat Burton II (87) by 151 runs; Saundersfoot II (200-4) beat Hook II (195-6) by 6 wkts; St Ishmaels II (229) beat Crymych (89) by 140 runs.

• CRYMYCH were unable to cause an upset as they were beaten by 140 runs away against second-placed St Ishmaels Seconds in their division four encounter.

Daniel Flynn (77) and Stephen Williams (51) were the main contributors as St Ishmaels posted a challenging 229, with Rhodri Thomas taking 2 for 35; James George 2 for 53; Rhydian Thomas 1 for 57; Alistair Davies 1 for 24; Daniel Jones 1 for 31 and Richard Thorne 1 for 0.

The Preseli men were then bowled all out for 89, despite knocks from Richard Thorne (32) and Dafydd Jones (28), as wickets fell to Ieaun Hawkins, with 4 for 27, and Kevin Bowen, taking 3 for 30.
