In reply, opener Scott Arthur (21, 3 fours and a six) and Phil Williams (47, 7 fours) started positively, before Matthew Webb (27, 4 fours) and Mike Venables (24, 3 fours and a six) kept the scoreboard moving.
Billy Kinnear then weighed in with (46, 7 fours and a six), but wickets were taken at key times by Peter Betterley (2 for 33), Graham Keen (2 for 25), Curran (1 for 49), Mike Godfrey (2 for 57) and Andrew Fletcher (1 for 30) and it was left to Neil Gregory (13 not out) to help hold out for the draw.
