Bangor (205 for 4) beat Pwllheli (204 for 9) by 6 wickets
PWLLHELI failed to defend a promising total of 204 for 9 from 50 overs in the North Wales League Premier Division as hosts Bangor secured a four-wicket success in the 48th over at Ty Newydd.
The Bangor batsmen made steady progress in their run chase, with Sion Evans and David Winter putting on 114 for the first wicket, before SK Aslam (1 for 38) finally trapped Evans lbw for 30.
Winter helped to advance the score to 129, before he was unfortunately run out by Guto Roberts for a top score of 75 runs, which included 10 shots to the boundary.
Nadeem Rehman, batting at three, kept his focus however, as his impressive 52 not out, including 7 fours, steered the hosts to victory.
Support was provided by Robert Marshall (9), who was held by Jason Underwood from bowler Sean Reilly (1 for 39), Jonny Wells, who was run out by SK Aslam and Ethan Ray (5 not out).
Earlier, Pwllheli had won the toss and elected to bat, and after the early loss of Chris Moore, Swapnil Padmanand Kate (47, with 7 fours) and Morgan Murray-Williams (44, with 7 fours)advanced the score on to 98.
Jason Underwood made 23 and SK Aslam scored 24, but despite Guto Roberts finishing on 16 not out, wickets fell in the pursuit of late runs.
Chris Dawson returned 3 for 54 from his 12 overs, with Gareth Edwards taking 2 for 40 from 12 overs, and Jonny Wells 2 for 25 from 6 late on.
• The previous weekend had seen Pwllheli triumph by four wickets, after limiting Denbigh to 125 for 9 after 50 overs at Parc Bodegroes.
After winning the toss, Pwllheli elected to field and wickets fell regularly, despite resistance from Gerallt Lyall (23), Harrison Jones (15), Sam Lewis (20) and Andy Taylor (26 not out).
The damage was done by SK Aslam, with 3 for 12 from 5 overs, including 5 maidens, and Sean Reilly, 3 for 22 from 8 overs, with 2 maidens.
Opener Chris Moore (30) and Morgan Murray-Williams (30) set Pwllheli on the way, before Lawrence Barraclough sealed the deal in the 40th over, with 26 not out. Harrison Jones took 2 for 13 and Sam Lewis 2 for 13.
