PWLLHELI travelled to an overcast Gresford for their mid-table North Wales League Premier Division clash and slipped to a disappointing defeat by 145 runs.
Electing to bowl first, Pwllheli removed opener Daniel Williams for 5 and Ross Willetts for 10, but came up against two in-form home batsmen as captain Danny Williams with 76 runs and Chris Ellwood with 62 added 109 runs for the third wicket.
Gareth Bell weighed in with a further 31 runs, Chris Mullock made 13 and David Baker 24 as the home side finished on an impressive total of 251 for 9 from 50 overs.

Tristan Coetzee also took a wicket and held a catch, and wicket-keeper Guto Roberts caught both openers behind.
Pwllheli’s reply saw the loss of early wickets, as openers Lawrence Barraclough and Iain Metcalfe both departed, and despite a hard-hitting 46 off just 34 balls from South-African Tristan Coetzee, the innings finished well short.
Neil Williams with an undefeated 20 was the only other Pen Llyn batsman to reach double figures, whilst spinner Simon Perry was the pick of the home bowlers, bagging 3 for 16 from 7 overs.
Ross Willets took 2 for 2 from 4 overs, and there were also wickets for Chris Ellwood, Cam Evans, Daniel Williams and Ryan Williams as Pwllheli were all out for a total of 106 runs in 27.1 overs.
Next weekend, Pwllheli Firsts entertain Llandudno at Parc Bodedgroes in the Premier Division, whilst Pwllheli Seconds have no fixture.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Pwllheli lost opener Nishanth Chinthangal, but Muhammed Yousaf Ali hit 21, and Ben Cowper 31 to get the hosts on track.
The top three batsmen were all dismissed lbw, before a catch, a stumping and a run out put the visitors in charge.

Just two runs from victory, David North was finally caught by Jayakanth Zupudi from the bowling of Kalim Al Baloshi for 30, with 3 fours.
