LLECHRYD settled for the better of a draw in their Pembrokeshire League division two match at Stackpole, and that fact was reflected in the points awarded as they picked up 21 to the hosts' 10.

After losing openers Andrew Davies (13) and Dewi Davies (10) to the bowling of Richard Mackay, John Curran and Steve Smith put on 42 for the third wicket.

Curran hit 3 fours and a six in his 30, before he was bowled by George Smith, but Steve Smith helped take the score on to 192 and looked on track for a deserved century when he was caught off the bowling of Marcus Adie for 85 (7 fours, 2 sixes).

Joe Mansfield provided a timely 38 not out as Llechryd made it past the 200 mark to finish on 205 for 6 after their 45 overs. George Smith (2 for 52) and Stackpole skipper Richard Mackay (2 for 42) had some success with the ball for the hosts.

In reply, opening pair Simon Bevan and Rob Mathias put on 66 for the first wicket, before Joe Mansfield held a catch to dismiss Mathias for 31, with 2 fours and 2 sixes, from the bowling of John Curran.

Josh Davies made 17 as he helped take the score on to 121, when he was caught by Tomos Davies off Andrew Fletcher.

Richard Mackay was dismissed lbw by Fletcher for 11, and opener Bevan was finally caught by Joe Mansfield from bowler Curran for 79, with 8 fours and 3 sixes.

Curran (4 for 39) and Andrew Fletcher (4 for 46) gained the upper hand as Stackpole finished on 176 for 8 after their 45 overs, with John Williams (16 not out) and Richard Gibby (8 not out) there at the end.

• Llechryd Seconds finished on 144 for 6 as they held out for a losing draw against Lamphey, who set a challenging target of 259 for 6 in their division three match.

Nic Johnson had led the way for the visitors with 82, supported by David Blackwell (50) and Peter McGilloway (56), with Ben Graham taking 2-65 for Llechryd.

In reply, Ollie Roberts made 69 and Rob Mansfield 21, but David Blackwell took 2-12, and Hywel Gibbs 2-21 for Lamphey.

• Crymych were all out for 98 in their efforts to chase down Llanrhian Seconds’ total of 248 for 9 in the Pembrokeshire division four.

Russell Watkins (83) and Tom Clarke (52) led the charge for Llanrhian, with Ioan Davies (3 for 32) having success with the ball.

Crymych’s Ioan Davies made 35 in reply, but the Preseli men were all out for 98, with Karl Davies claiming 3-14 in a 150-run defeat.
