Llechryd (104 all out) lost to Carew (250 for 2) by 146 runs

LLECHRYD were beaten by 146 runs as leaders Carew claimed maximum bonus points in the Pembrokeshire League division two with a comprehensive away win, spear-headed by Tom Davies’ undefeated century, and then the bowling skills of Rhys Davies and Robert Scourfield.

Tom Davies struck 14 boundaries in his 101 not out, and shared in an opening stand of 89 with Tom Scourfield, who was clearly in no mood for too much running as his excellent 52 included 11 fours.

Rhys Davies (43) and Shaun Whitfield (32 not out) maintained the innings’ momentum and a final tally of 250 for 2 after 45 overs saw only Nick North (1 for 35 from 5 overs) and Michael Godfrey (1 for 48 from 12 overs) claim a wicket apiece.

For Carew, Rhys Davies (4 for 33 from 9.3 overs) and Robert Scourfield (3 for 13 from 5) took control with the ball after tea, after John Curran (60) and Steve Smith (17) had put on 83 for the first wicket.

Curran struck 9 fours and a six off 64 balls before he was finally dismissed lbw by Scourfield, but after Smith was bowled by Rhys Davies, no other Llechryd batsman managed to score double figures as Llechryd finished on 104 in the 26th over.
