SS20
A flawless drive in the rally-ending Wolf power stage enabled Elfyn Evans to clinch victory in Rally de Portugal. With a 26.2 second advantage over Dani Sordo going into the final stage, the Dolgellau driver finished 10,6 seconds behind stage winner Ott Tänak but it was more than enough to claim victory and a great way to bounce back after the disappointment of Croatia, where he was robbed of victory on the final corner. The 32-year-old Toyota Gazoo Racing driver said: "It feels good! We perhaps weren't the fastest crew this weekend, but we had really good pace and kept out of trouble and obviously did enough to keep Dani at bay today.“It comes at a good time, so I'm happy to take this one.”Hyundai’s Dani Sordo secured valuable points for the team with second. After leading on Friday, many had expected him to go on and win the event. He said: "I am so happy to come back with second place. I was disappointed not to catch Elfyn today, but he was faster, and when you are faster you win.”Standings after SS20 /20:1. Evans 3hr 38min 26.2sec2. Sordo +28.3sec3. Ogier +1min 23.6sec4.
