Aberystwyth Town Women FC have strengthened their squad for the 2026/27 season with the loan signing of promising goalkeeper Megan Bowen from The New Saints.

The 18-year-old arrives at Park Avenue after progressing through some of North Wales' leading player development pathways. Bowen spent time with Connah's Quay Nomads and the FAW Girls Academy North before continuing her development with TNS.

Highly rated as one of the region's brightest young goalkeeping prospects, Bowen is known for her commanding presence, strong shot-stopping ability and maturity beyond her years. She joins the Seasiders eager to gain valuable senior experience and continue her progression in the game.

Aberystwyth Town Women manager Rhys Jon James is delighted to welcome the teenager to the club.

"I'm delighted to have Meg join us. She's a top talent who is clearly hungry to improve and develop her game," he said.

"She's a great shot-stopper, has a real presence between the posts and has already shown she's a fantastic personality to have in and around the dressing room. I am really excited to be working with her this season."

Bowen's arrival provides added competition and depth in the goalkeeping department as Aberystwyth prepare for the challenges of the new campaign.

Aberystwyth take on Wrexham at The Rock this afternoon at 2pm in their Genero Adran Premier season opener.
