ABERYSTWYTH Town Women continue their Genero Adran Premier campaign this afternoon (2pm) as they face The New Saints Women at Park Avenue.

The Seasiders head into the fixture looking to build momentum and secure a positive result following a competitive start to the campaign, while the visitors arrive after a big win versus Barry Town United Women the week prior.

TNS will provide another stern test for Aber as both sides look to strengthen their position in the Genero Adran Premier table.

Attention will also turn to one of the previous meetings between the two sides, where Aberystwyth produced an impressive 1–0 victory at home at the beginning of last season.

For Aberystwyth, the match represents another important opportunity to build momentum and secure valuable points as the season progresses.

With home advantage at Park Avenue, the Seasiders will be looking to produce another strong performance in front of the Aber faithful.

Ones To Watch

Aberystwyth Town Women: REBECCA MATHIAS

Rebecca Mathias, the long-standing vice-captain could prove pivotal for the Seasiders this weekend. The defender’s tenacity, experience and quality on the ball make her a key figure in Aber's side, and she will be looking to influence the game at both ends of the pitch as the Seasiders aim to claim an important result on home soil.

The New Saints Women: ABBIE IDDENDEN

One player Aber will need to keep a close eye on is Abbie Iddenden. The summer signing has made a sensational start to life at Park Hall and arrives at Park Avenue after scoring four goals in TNS' 9-1 win over Barry Town United, including the fastest hat-trick in Genero Adran Premier history. The forward will be aiming to continue her outstanding form and add to her growing goal tally.

Last time out

Aberystwyth Town Women were left frustrated as a fiercely contested encounter against Swansea City Women was decided by a single first-half stoppage-time penalty, with the visitors claiming a narrow 1-0 victory.

In a closely fought contest throughout, Aberystwyth more than matched their opponents and can count themselves unfortunate not to take something from a game in which their effort and commitment never wavered.

Both sides battled hard from the opening whistle, with chances at a premium as two well-organised teams fought for control. Aberystwyth showed plenty of attacking intent and created opportunities of their own, while remaining disciplined defensively against a strong Swansea side.

The decisive moment arrived in first-half stoppage time when Swansea were awarded a penalty. The visitors made no mistake from the spot, converting to take a 1-0 lead into the break.

Despite the setback, Aberystwyth responded positively in the second half. They continued to press forward, creating openings and asking questions of the Swansea defence. The home side's determination and work rate were evident throughout as they searched for an equaliser.

As the game progressed, the competitive nature of the contest became increasingly apparent, with temperatures rising on the pitch and neither side willing to give an inch.

Every challenge and every ball was fiercely contested in a match that showcased the commitment of both teams. Aberystwyth continued to battle until the final whistle, but Swansea held firm to preserve their slender advantage and secure all three points.

While the result ultimately went the way of the visitors, the scoreline did not fully reflect Aberystwyth's performance.

The home side produced a hardworking display, matched Swansea for long periods, and created opportunities that on another day could have earned them a deserved reward.

There were plenty of positives to take from a spirited performance that demonstrated the team's resilience, determination, and ability to compete with one of the league's strongest sides.

Anna Evans made her Genero Adran Debut at just 16 years old. Plenty of positives to take for the Seasiders.
