SECOND-placed Bala Town are hoping for favourable weather for their live televised match at Gap Connah’s Quay, as they look to return to winning ways in the Dafabet Welsh Premier League on Saturday.

The Lakesiders were due to host Carmarthen Town last weekend, but following an 8am pitch inspection by two referees the game was called off because of the wet conditions.

Boss Colin Caton is keen for his side to put right their disappointing 2-0 defeat at Airbus UK Broughton last time, and a performance that he described as their worst this season.

“It’s so disappointing as it’s a game we could have won, we did not play anything like we can," said Caton.

“We looked jaded, and we we poor, our passing was sloppy and we gave the ball away far too easily.

“We just couldn’t get going. It’s one of the worst performances I’ve seen since I’ve been with Bala.

“We had been so consistent this season, but we’ve just got to put it behind us. We’re still well placed in second spot, and have only lost twice in 14 games.”

Now playing clubs for the second time, and with the crucial Christmas period looming, the race to secure places in the top six is hotting up.

Bala will take heart from the fact that they were 2-0 winners over the Nomads at Maes Tegid in September, after goals from David Artell and John Irving.

The Nomads have meanwhile moved up to sixth place - after spending 14 games in the bottom six - with a 2-0 win on the road at Haverfordwest last weekend.

They were knocked out of the Word Cup Semi Final on Wednesday evening, however, against Denbigh Town.

David Thompson and Ian Sheridan are both doubts for the Lakesiders - with the match kicking-off off at a later time of 5.15p.m, due to the live television coverage.
