BORTH United were unable to prevent already-promoted Berriew from securing the Spar Mid Wales League division two title as the visitors lifted the trophy after a 2-0 win at Uppingham Field.
Goals from George Davies and Rich Davies sealed the win they needed to win the division, with three games remaining.
Two days earlier a Rob Pritchard hat-trick, along with a Dave Roberts strike and an own goal had clinched promotion with 5-2 win over Four Crosses, and they had arrived in Borth in confident mood.
The visitors slightly edged the opening period, and took the lead when a cross from the right was met by George Davies, who scored passed keeper Ben Willis.
Berriew looked to stamp their authority in the second half, and Davies rounded keeper Willis, only to see his shot rebound off the post, whilst Steff Rogers was also unlucky to see his shot hit the crossbar.
Davies appeared to have secured the points when he beat the offside trap and chipped the ball over Willis to make it 2-0.
Borth, who entertain Dyffryn Banw this weekend, responded well, and only some resolute defence denied them a goal.
• Aberystwyth University’s promotion hopes in the Spar Mid Wales League division two hang in the balance after being held to a goalless deadlock away at Bont.
They remain in second position, but Kerry stepped up the pressure in the race to move up to division one next term with a 2-1 win against Bettws, courtesy of goals from Matt Mumford and Mark Hughes.
The result leaves Kerry just one point behind the students, but with a game in hand and a far superior goal difference.
The University, who were at home to Borth United on Monday night, have four league games remaining, with a home meeting against Bont tonight (Wednesday) and a trip to Newbridge on Saturday.
Bont kept another clean sheet on Saturday as a stunning free-kick from Rhys Morgan earned a 1-0 win at Penybont.
With four matches to go, Bont are looking to end their season with a positive run of results, and they follow up their midweek clash with the students with a tricky assignment at Radnor Valley on Saturday.
A Josh Gardner meanwhile ensured that Presteigne ended their campaign with a 1-0 home win over Four Crosses, whilst Dyffryn Banw won 1-0 away at Abermule.
