BONT moved up to second place in the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth District League with a 4-2 win over Aberystwyth University Reserves - but Penparcau maintained their big lead at the top with a 2-0 win over Llanilar.

Starting a run of four home games on the bounce, Bont piled on the pressure against the students from the start, and Ben Lewis and Dewi Evans both went close in the opening 15 minutes.

They got the goal they deserved, however, when Lee Morgan played in Trevor Jenkins, and he calmly lifted the ball over the advancing keeper.

It was soon 2-0 as Dewi Evans found Lewis in space, and he picked out Morgan in the middle to slot home for a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break.

Bont were soon back into the groove at the start of the second half, and Lee Morgan doubled his tally for the afternoon after making space for himself in the penalty box and firing home an unstoppable shot from 18 yards out.

The students pulled back two goals in the closing minutes, including one from the penalty spot, through Michael Cotter-Jones and Andy Wilson, but Bont held on for three points.
