A CONVINCING performance, with three well-taken goals and a third consecutive clean sheet, earned Bow Street a solid 3-0 win over Four Crosses at Cae Piod in the MMP Mid Wales League last weekend.

Goals from Llyr Davies, Tomos Wyn Roberts and John James, including two excellent assists from Jac Williams, consolidated their top four position in division one.

After their long lay-off, Caersws finally returned to action with a 1-0 win at home against Radnor Valley, who battled hard with 10 men, before succumbing to their 10th league defeat of the campaign.

With both defences on top of much of the game, Peter Rees scored the only goal to lift the Bluebirds into a top five position, with games in hand on the teams above.

With league leaders Llanidloes Town and Builth Wells not involved in league action last weekend, Llandrindod Wells took their chance to close the gap with a 6-1 home win against Tywyn/Bryncrug.

Ryan Sims scored twice, while Rob Nicholls, Matt Tong, Kieran McCarley and Jack Evans completed the tally as Llandrindod moved within a point of second-placed Builth, with a game in hand. Liam Metcalfe replied.

Aberaeron made the long journey to face Llansantffraid with just 11 players available, but they secured a 1-1 draw at Treflan, with Gareth Severs scoring for the visitors, and Nathan Buckley netting for the hosts.

Sean Griffiths scored twice against his former club as Carno earned a 2-1 win at home to Montgomery Town, with Glyn Coney on the scoresheet for the visitors.

Llanidloes Town kept their league and cup double bid on track with an action-packed 8-3 quarter-final win over Kerry. Jack Biggs led the scoring with a hat-trick, while Dafydd Carruthers netted twice and Dewi Allen, Ed Clarke and Ashley Owen completed the home tally.

This weekend sees Aberaeron take on Bow Street in their rearranged League Cup tie, with the winners to face Caersws in the last eight of the competition. The other quarter-finals, to be arranged, are between Berriew and Montgomery, and Builth Wells against Four Crosses.
