LLANIDLOES Town shrugged off their cup woe as they consolidated fourth place in the Spar Mid Wales League division one with a 4-3 win at Bow Street.The Daffs wilted in their 3-0 Radnorshire Cup final defeat to Llandrindod Wells six days earlier, but were back on song as they continued their league form.Joe Evans led the way with a brace, with George Clarke and Rhys D Evans also on target. Tom Williams netted twice for the Magpies in reply, his first a penalty, with Tom Evans getting the other.
Llanidloes entertain Machynlleth on Saturday as they look to sign off their league campaign in style. They finish with a rearranged trip to Llanrhaeadr on Saturday, May 6.
"It was a fantastic response, we played really well and the score did not reflect how well we played," said manager Hugh Clarke.
"We made it closer than it should have been, but to go there and score four goals was a great effort. We showed a lot of energy and the whole team were excellent."
It was Bow Street who took the lead with a penalty from Williams conceded by keeper Jake Brown, who had stepped in for the unavailable Aaron Warrick.
The Daffs hit back, with Joe Evans heading a loose ball into the corner and George Clarke fired home to double the advantage.
Evans then got his second before the break, and Rhys Evans broke through to slot a fourth after the interval.
Bow Street hit back with a deflected free kick, before a close range goal reduced the arrears in the last minute after the ball had bounced off keeper Brown.
Meanwhile goals from Rob Pritchard and Richard Davies earned second-placed Berriew a 2-1 win at leaders Rhayader, who replied through Ifan Burrell - but the Red Kites are assured of the league title.
Carno’s Andy Evans scored as they dropped crucial points in a 1-1 draw against Llandrindod Wells, who scored via Robert Nicholls.
In midweek, Carno had beaten Montgomery Town 6-1 with goals from Andy Evans, Geraint Jones, Jordan Jones, Richie Evans, with a brace, and an own goal.
A hat-trick by Marc Griffiths and a Iwan Matthews goal earned Llanrhaeadr a 4-1 succes over Tywyn, with Mark Edmonson replying.
Knighton beat Machynlleth by 5-0, with a Connor Bird hat-trick and singles by Danny Ives and Sam Williams .
A Ricky Litchfield goal earned Welshpool a 1-1 draw with Aberaeron, who had scored via Mattie Davies.
In midweek goals from George Davies, Callum Matthews and a bullet free kick from Joey Price saw Radnor Valley beat Llandrindod 3-0.
Kerry were crowned division two champions in midweek, after beating Dyffryn Banw 2-0 with goals by Daryl Mcwatt and Mark Probert.
Last weekend, Dolgellau two goals from Dominic Thomas and a Jon Sutton goal earned Dolgellau a 3-1 win at Newbridge, whilst Dyffryn Banw beat Penybont by 3-1.
