LLANIDLOES Town maintained their 13-point lead at the top of the MMP Mid Wales League division one as they notched a battling 2-1 win over Welshpool Town at Victoria Avenue.

George Clarke made the breakthrough when he broke through to slot past the advancing keeper, and Gareth Owen then doubled the lead. Will Thomas halved the deficit from the penalty spot for the visitors, but the Daffs held firm for their 10th home success at Victoria Avenue.

Bow Street moved up to fourth position as goals from Llyr Davies, Josh Crowl and Steffan Richards earned the Magpies a 3-2 win at Berriew, with a much-improved second half performance.

The Rhiewsiders had scored through Joe Haycock and Steffan Rogers, but they really struggled to contain Bow Street after the interval.

Second-placed Builth Wells proved too strong for Carno as doubles from Danny Ives and Greg Preece capped a solid 5-0 win at Lant Fields. Christian Jones also headed a goal for the home side as they raced into a four-goal lead at the half-time break, and remained well in control.

Meanwhile first half goals by Jack Evans, Matty Tong and Ryan Sims earned third-placed Llandrindod Wells a 3-1 home win over Caersws. The Bluebirds pulled a goal back before the interval with an Elliot Jones free kick into the bottom corner, but the Wellmen held on for the win.

Mattie Davies scored twice as Aberaeron notched a hard-earned 4-3 home success over Kerry, with Gareth Severs and Ianto ap Dafydd also scoring in the first half.

Max Mclaughlin netted twice and Ben Hendleman once as Kerry hit back from 4-1 down at the interval, but they were left to rue a missed penalty as the hosts held on.

Radnor Valley prevailed as 3-1 winners at Four Crosses, with goals from Rees Morris, Callum Matthews and Joey Price, with Gaz Jones netting a reply for the home team.

Elsewhere a solitary strike from Glynn Coney proved enough as Montgomery Town battled to a 1-0 win at home against Llansantffraid.
