BALA Town have added to their squad with the acquisition of Daniel Gosset, ahead of their Welsh Premier League opener at home to Carmarthen Town on Friday evening (ko 7.45pm).
Gosset joins the Maes Tegid club after two years at Bangor City. The 23 year-old midfielder began his career at Oldham Athletic, where he started two matches after coming through the youth Academy with the Latics.
During 2013 he went on loan to Stockport County, making 15 starts before a move into the Welsh system. He moved on to Rhyl in 2014, spending a year at Belle Vue and making 21 appearances, before a move to The New Saints.
After a spell on the sidelines and only 10 starts, he was picked up by Bangor City in the summer of 2016, where he had his most successful spell to date.
Following his 64 starts with the Citizens, he was called up to the Wales C squad in March, alongside Bala’s Ashley Morris and Chris Venables.
He was also named in the JD Welsh Premier League’s Team of the Year, and over the close season, he has spent time at Jamie Vardy’s V9 Academy.
Meanwhile Bala Town have mutually agreed to part company with former Tranmere Rovers and Shrewsbury Town striker Andy Mangan, who joined the club during the summer.
Mangan, who played in both Bala’s Europa League ties this summer, has returned to Accrington Stanley, 11 years after his first spell with the club ended.
The 31-year-old had been training with the club during pre-season, and has signed a one-year deal with one-year option after terminating his contract with the Lakesiders.
Mangan only joined Bala in the summer after leaving Tranmere Rovers and taking up a coaching role with Fleetwood Town Under 16s.
He said the chance to return to the Reds in League One, and reunite with manager John Coleman was impossible to refuse.
