LLANIDLOES Town will look to get back on track in the MMP Mid Wales League division one when they return to duty at home to Tywyn Bryncrug on Saturday.

After five straight wins, the Daffs were undone 3-2 by early front runners Radnor Valley in their last outing at Victoria Avenue last midweek.

They had their chances, with George Clarke having a headed goal disallowed, before the visitors opened up a three goal lead through a Joey Price brace, including a penalty, and Jack Williams.

Llani then staged a tremendous fightback, with Peter Rees and Connor Bird, with his eighth goal of the season, pulling goals back, but Valley held firm for a precious win, courtesy of goals from Joey Price, with a brace, and Jack Williams.

Manager Hugh Clarke will want a swift riposte, but took plenty of plusses despite the defeat against Radnor Valley.

"One single result is not going to count for a lot during the whole season, there are going to be a lot of twists and turns through this campaign," he said.

"Radnor Valley are a good side, put bodies on the line and have a spark going forward, but what was pleasing from our point of view was the character we showed when went 3-0 down.

"Twelve months ago, we could have lay down and ended up losing by six or seven, but the lads showed great determination and spirit to fight back, and we battered them at the end.

"Once we got one back, there was only one team in it, and if we put in that kind of effort during the season, then we won’t be far away."

Ash Owen is out with an ankle ligaments injury he picked up in the Radnor Valley game, while Jordan Jones is also sidelined with an ankle problem and striker Peter Rees is unavailable.

Meanwhile Llanidloes Town have been drawn away to Welshpool Town in second qualifying round of the JD Welsh Cup. Tie to be played on 28 or 29 September.Click on links below for the Spar Mid Wales League and Welsh Cup round-ups.
