BOW STREET dropped into a bottom three position in the MMP Mid Wales League division one last weekend as they slipped to a 2-1 home defeat against Kerry.
The visitors had arrived in upbeat mood after a solid home win over high-flying Radnor Valley the previous week, and despite going down to 10 men, they battled hard to secure the three points.
A fine left-footed volley from Luke Mumford had earned the Lambs an interval lead, and Mark Hughes ultimately sealed the points in the second half, despite the Magpies’ efforts.
Bow Street replied through Owen Roberts-Young, but they were unable to build on their fine FAW Trophy win the previous week, and slipped to a seventh league defeat of the season.
Tywyn/Bryncrug took their chance to lift themselves above the Magpies as they made a welcome return to winning ways with a determined 4-0 home win over Llansantffraid Village.
After a tough run of defeats, the Meirionnydd men finally got back on track with goals from Nick Williams, Tom Allen Davies, Ted Hughes, with his first goal for the club, and an own goal to claim their third league win.
Radnor Valley had to settle for an 3-3 draw against Berriew, having gone from two goals up to 3-2 down, before equalising in the last 15 minutes.
Two goals from Joey Price put the Radnor men in charge, but Berriew hit back to turn the tables before half-time with goals from Joe Haycock, with a brace, and George Mitten.
Liam Jones converted a brilliant free kick in the closing stages to earn the home side a point, and remain within three points of third-placed Berriew.
Aberystwyth University are still looking for their first points in the MMP Mid Wales League division two after going down 3-1 at home to Four Crosses.
Goals by the front three of Jamie Evans, Harry Davies and Ben Simms sentenced the students to an eighth straight defeat. James Watts scored for the University.
Waterloo Rovers moved within two points of leaders Hay St Mary’s as they registered a 4-0 win over Presteigne. Charlie Proctor led the way with a hat-trick, and Andrew Gwilt also netted as the Welshpool side emerged worthy winners.
Machynlleth finally registered their first league win of the season as they were solid 5-1 winners over Dyffryn Banw, who scored through Alun Jones. Goals from Andrew Page, Simon Davies, Alex Davies and Sion Jones, with a brace, secured the three points for Mach, as they moved up a place in the table.
