BALA Town have bolstered their midfield options with the signature of former Welsh Premier League Young Player of the Year Henry Jones.

The highly rated 24 year-old turned down a new deal at AFC Fylde, and says he is looking forward to working with Bala boss Colin Caton."I've been speaking to Colin for a few years now, from my time at Bangor, and I felt that the time was right to come here and play again in the Welsh Premier League," said Jones, who is from Aberaeron."Things didn't work out at Fylde, and this was the best option for me. I like to create and score goals, and be a player that excited fans more than anything."Bala have a strong squad, and they have been there or thereabouts for the last few years. So I don't see why we can't go a step further and challenge for the league title next season with TNS."Jones had signed a one year for National League club Fylde last summer, scoring four goals in 23 games for the Lancashire outfit as they finished seventh in the table, and reached the play-off qualifiers.

Before joining them he was named as Young Player of the Year in the Welsh Premier League in 2017, after netting 14 goals and providing 10 assists in 32 appearances for Bangor City.

He was also named in the Welsh League’s Team of the Year last season as Bangor finished fourth in the table, securing a qualification spot in the Europa League.

A former Wales Under-21 international, Jones began his career with Premier League side Swansea City, rising up through the ranks from the age of eight, before turning professional at 18.Click on link below for some of Henry jones' highlights for Bangor City.
