PENPARCAU are chasing the treble this season, having already been crowned as the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League champions, as well as winning the Emrys Morgan Cup.

The division one champions are targeting another piece of silverware when they take on Llanilar in the final of the Len and Julia Newman Memorial Trophy at Park Avenue on Monday, 20 May (ko 7pm).

Penparcau, who look set to step up into the MMP Mid Wales League division two next season, signed off their campaign with an emphatic 18-0 midweek win over Aberystwyth University Reserves.

Andrew Gittins led the way with a five goal haul, Mattie Davies and Liam Jaques both fired hat-tricks, Michael Gornall and Kieran Duggan scored twice, and there were further goals for Ben Holt, Jordan-Lee and Gaz Lewis.

The huge scoreline meant that they finished the season as the league’s top scorers with a remarkable tally of 102 goals from their 18 matches, losing just one league game.

BORTH United completed their MMP Mid Wales League division two campaign with a comprehensive 8-1 midweek victory over Aberystwyth University at Uppingham Fields.

The writing was on the wall for the students after only six minutes as Dion Ellis-Clark’s cross was met by Ryan Davies to score with a rasping drive into the bottom corner.

The students created some good goalscoring chances, but they crucially conceded the second Borth goal on the stroke of half time as Guto Huws scored with a looping header.

Borth took the initiative as the second half got underway and increased the lead on the hour as Ryan Davies superbly chipped the ball over the keeper from the edge of the box.

The students peservered and were rewarded when Adam Gascoigne scored from a 20 yard free kick - but any hope of reducing the deficit further were quickly dashed.

Dion Ellis-Clark’s pin-point cross from the right wing allowed Ryan Davies to score with a cool finish to complete a well-deserved hat-trick.

Borth kept up the pressure, and when the impressive Dion Ellis-Clark floated another ball in from the wing, Jay Walker scored from close range.

This was soon followed by two goals from sub Jamie Evans, his first with a low shot and his second goal coming again from a Dion Ellis-Clark cross, finished with a powerful header.

With only minutes remaining James Davies scored with a class finish to complete an emphatic win for the hosts.
