PORTHMADOG manager Craig Papirynyk had continued to shape his squad for the next Cymru Alliance campaign by signing Dale Davies and Dan Dascalu.
Striker Davies has represented Brickfield Rangers in the Welsh League (Wrexham Area) Premier Division in recent seasons, having previously been at Corwen.
He came close to helping Rangers to secure a place in the Huws Gray Cymru Alliance last season, only to see them pipped at the post by champions Buckley.
“I am very pleased that he has chosen Porthmadog to further develop his career, as there were offers from other Cymru Alliance clubs, but thankfully Dale wanted to join us,” said Papirnyk.
“We have recently lost two attacking players, so an opportunity within the squad has opened and we have swiftly moved to sign Dale, who we have identified as a key target and a good replacement for what we have lost in Cai Jones.
“He will no doubt strengthen our attacking line-up and he will bring something different to what we already have.
“Dale he has plenty of experience playing in the Welsh League, and with a proven goal scoring record over the years.
“He has been a key player for Brickfield and their success in the last few seasons, scoring important goals and leading their attacking line, and has a keen eye for goal and an extremely hard working attitude.
“He is a big strong lad, powerful in the air, works hard for his team and shows a great attitude when on the field. He will be a great addition to our squad.
“Dale will wear the number 31 and I’m really looking forward to seeing him develop on the pitch with us this season.”
Papirnyk has also made his fourth new signing of the summer by bringing in young midfielder Dan Dascalu from Welsh League club Llanuwchllyn FC
A product of the Bala Town Academy he was involved in age-group National Development Squads and was called up to the Wales Academy squad in 2016, travelling to play the Republic of Ireland.
He played for the Wales U18s with Ifan Emlyn and as a 16 year-old he was given a first-team contract by boss Colin Caton.
“Dan is a player with lots of promise and I’m pleased to announce that he is now a Port player,” said Papirnyk.
“He’s a young and an exciting talent who also signed a contract with Bala Town, before moving to Llanuwchllyn.
“He’s a very clever footballer and will bring more creativity to our attacking play. He’s versatile and he can play in any position through the midfield.”
Leaving the Traeth club are two talented forwards in Cai Jones and Sion Bradley, who have both made the difficult decision to leave the club to prove themselves at Welsh Premier League level with newly promoted side Caernarfon Town.
Papirnyk said: “Both players are products of the Porthmadog Academy and the club is proud of the huge strides they have made in the game. We all wish them well and every success in the future.”
