BALA Town boss Colin Caton has had another week to dwell on their disappointing 4-0 Welsh Cup defeat at Aberystwyth Town after the wintry weather meant that their Welsh Premier match with The New Saints was postponed last weekend.

Following a pitch inspection at 9am on Saturday morning, the decision was made to postpone the match, with four inches of snow covering the 3G pitch.

It was still under a blanket of snow on Tuesday, and with the icy conditions making it unsafe around the ground, all Academy and Ladies training was cancelled.

After two heavy defeats, including a 5-0 league defeat at Bangor City, the Lakesiders will be keen to return to action this weekend with a trip to take on Cardff Met.

Goals from Nathan Burke and Chris Venables, from the penalty spot, earned the Lakesiders a 2-1 over the students at Maes Tegid in August, but it promises to be a big test of Bala’s resolve this weekend.

Chistian Edwards’ high-flying side, who are just five points behind leaders TNS, has lost just three times in 15 league outings, and are unbeaten in six matches.

To add to his frustrations, Bala boss Caton has been given a two-match touchline suspension by the FAW in relation to a charge of improper conduct during Bala’s recent 2-1 league victory against Aberystwyth Town on Friday, 17 November.
