BUOYANT Bow Street could still finish their Spar Mid Wales League campaign in third place in the division one table, if they can win their last two league games.

The Magpies travel to already-crowned champions Llanrhaeadr on Saturday, before completing their league campaign at Llandrindod Wells next Wednesday.

Two wins would lift them above Llanidloes Town on goal difference, after the Daffs completed their campaign with a 3-0 win over Machynlleth in midweek.

A sizeable crowd gathered at Cae Piod for Bow Street’s last home game of the season, and they were not to be disappointed as the hosts notched a solid 5-0 win over Berriew.

The Magpies took a two-goal first half lead, despite not being at their fluent best, with Mark Gornall opening the scoring with a 30-yard special, followed a great header from a corner by Llion Jenkins.

The second half was very much dominated by the home side, and the lively Jenkins deservedly got his second goal of the afternoon around the hour.

Substitute Tom Evans made an immediate impact when he came on for the last 15 minutes with two goals, the second being a sublime header, following an excellent move involving several players.

Bow Street’s focus turned immediately to Tuesday’s huge match at Llanidloes, where the Magpies beat Llanfair United 4-0 in the semi-finals of the League Cup.Garmon Nutting opened the scoring with a great strike, and Mark Gornall’s low free kick went in off the inside of the post to double their lead.Street remained on top and they went even further ahead when Neil Evans connected with another textbook Gornall free kick to make it 3-0 at the interval.Further pressure saw another perfectly placed free kick from Gornall sliced behind for a corner, and Ifan Burrell went through at a tight angle and saw his strike rattle the bar.Llanfair's hopes faded when they were reduced to 10 men following a second yellow card, and Tom Evans put the game beyond doubt when he slotted home to make it 4-0.Spar Mid Wales League round-upLIAM Jaques scored a superb hat-trick as Aberaeron hit back from their League Cup semi-final loss to Welshpool in midweek, with a 4-2 win at Radnor Valley.Aberaeron arrived with a bare eleven, and it was Radnor who made the breakthrough when Joey Price ran in to the box and picked out Elliot Morris to score.
