TALYBONT settled for a share of the derby spoils in the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League division one with a 1-1 home draw against Bow Street Reserves last weekend.
Bow Street had opened the scoring in the first half through Stephen Harrison, but Talybont equalised some 20 minutes from the end through Robbie Southgate’s effort to secure a hard-earned point.The Magpies, however, were left to rue a missed penalty 10 minutes from time by Nicholas Smith, and they ultimately paid for weak finishing near the end.
Machynlleth Reserves beat Borth United Reserves 6-3, through goals from Brian Jones, Alex Davies, with a brace, Dave Jones, Dion Kohler and Cai Thomas. Borth replied with two goals from Jake Bush, and a goal from Christian Jones.
Leaders Bont were in Cambrian Tyres League Cup action, and they breezed through to the next round with an emphatic 13-0 win over division two outfit Llanon.
Andrew Carree led the way with four goals, whilst Gwynfryn Hughes scored a hat-trick, and Andrew Gilbert, William Davey, Lee Jones, Fergus Morris, Mitchell Fox and an own goal completed an emphatic win.
Goals from Jac Kelly and George Jackson-Townshend earned Dolgellau Reserves a 2-1 win at Padarn United, with Paul James scoring a 45 yard ‘worldie’ for the hosts.
Carwyn Earey scored a hat-trick as Tregaron Turfs marched on with a 6-4 win over Aberystwyth University Thirds. Dylan Davies, Sam Jones and Llyr Davies also netted for the hosts.
Llanilar meanwhile made progress in the Dai ‘Dynamo’ Davies Memorial Cup as a first half penalty from Clive Morgan earned them a 1-0 success over Aberystwyth University Reserves.
