Aberystwyth Town’s Marc Williams has been named as the player of the month for April in recognition of his charity work.
Seasiders striker Marc Williams has been a central figure for his side this term.
However, he has proven to be just as much an influential figure off the pitch.
In April, the forward organised a fundraiser to raise vital funds for NHS Wales and he encouraged other JD Cymru Leagues players to help him in achieving his goal.
Earlier this month, Williams reached his target of £5,000. Because of this, he has been named the JD Cymru Premier Player of the Month.
In light of the current Covid-19 pandemic, the JD Cymru Leagues decided to award its Player and Manager of the Month awards to those individuals in the domestic game who have given back to their community in the midst of the current testing climate.
With football currently suspended, a number of players, coaches and officials have used their time to support the cause in a range of ways, whether in a professional or voluntary capacity.
The JD Cymru Leagues decided to reward some of these individuals with the awards for April, to recognise the work they are doing during the current pandemic.
The Football Association of Wales and the JD Cymru Leagues would like to extend their gratitude to all key workers for the work they continue to carry out in all the communities across Wales during this difficult time.
Wayne Jones of Haverfordwest County, who works as a health care support worker in Carmarthen as part of the mental health team, was named Manager of the Month.
