CRYMYCH were crowned worthy winners of the Pembrokeshire Cup after a dominant 36-17 win over Tenby United at Haverfordwest, where they established a 36-3 lead right up until the closing stages.

Ironically, the now champions were playing their first game in the competition this season after a bye and two walkover wins, but they ensured the opportunity did not go to waste as they outplayed a Tenby side, for whom defeat compounded a miserable campaign.

The Preseli men went into the game having already beaten the relegated Seasiders twice in Division One West this season - and they pressed hard from the start as the pack established superiority.

After a series of forward drives, hooker Aled Harries was adjudged to have been high tackled – and scrum half Rhys Davies landed the resulting 35 metre penalty.

Davies added another a much more difficult attempt from out wide on the left, but the Seasiders pulled three points back when Tom Lewis landed a penalty.

Davies kicked another penalty to make it 9-3, and took a quick tap penalty 10 metres out, and dived over in the corner.

Winger Tomi Jones raced away to score the first try, and centre Rhydian Thomas charged over for another, with Davies once again converting to make it 28-3.

In the second half Davies added another three points and Joe Powell burrowed over from close range for an unconverted try to take Crymych out of sight - but Tenby rallied late on with tries by winger Jordan Asparassa and centre Mark Heywood, with Lewis converting both scores.
