DOLGELLAU opened up a five-point advantage atop the North Two West as they ran in nine tries against winless Holyhead on Saturday for a 53-0 victory.

Among Dol’s top performers was youth team player Henri Roberts who crossed for a haul of five tries on his senior debut.

The right-sided winger also added four conversions for good measure to rack up 33 points on the day.

Four tries and a bonus point came in the first third of the match, all of which resulted from quick hands and strong running; 17-year-old Roberts touched down three times while outside centre Gareth Hughes also went over.

Roberts then crossed for his fourth shortly before the interval.

With Holyhead on the ropes, Dolgellau continued to pile on the pressure after the interval.

Roberts crossed for his fifth following a deft pass from standoff Jac Roberts.

The Dolgellau forwards varied their game well against a useful Holyhead pack, with Geraint Evans, Bryn Jones and Rhys Roberts running some impressive lines to get over the gainline.

The continuing pressure paid dividends with further tries by Iwan Pugh, Jamie King and a second for Hughes.

Next up for Dolgellau is a home match against Bangor on 26 November.
