This fascinating photograph has been shared by St Fagans National Museum of History.
It shows builders and stonemasons taking a break in front of Aberystwyth War Memorial while it was being built between 1921 and 1923.
The memorial was designed by Italian Mario Rutelli, who was based in Palermo, and cost £10,000, about £1 for every person living in Aberystwyth at the time.
