I am relieved to see that the speed limit has been brought down from 30mph to 20mph in much of northern Aberystwyth.

It’s essential that this long-needed change is replicated on North Road. When I visited Llys Hen Ysgol sheltered housing recently, I was told by some of the residents that, with the speed limit as it is, there isn’t enough time for them to get across the road.

Not only would a lower speed limit continue to improve safety and lower emissions, it would make an immense difference to the lives of people who perhaps find it a struggle to cross the road; such as older people and young children.
