Aberdyfi Search & Rescue Team members had a busy August with six call-outs in 17 days on Cadair Idris.

On 12 August 11 team members assisted a casualty suffering a serious medical emergency on the Minffordd Path, Cadair Idris.

Working alongside the Welsh Ambulance Service, HM Coastguard Rescue Helicopter was requested, and the casualty was airlifted from the mountainside before transfer for specialist medical care.

On 14 August a search for lost walkers on Cadair Idris was launched. Before the search progressed, contact was re-established and the group successfully found their way back to the main path.

On 17 August the team was mobilised to locate two overdue teenagers who had become uncontactable. A search party located them on the mountain and escorted them safely back down.

On 23 August 17 team members were involved in a significant rescue after a walker sustained a serious ankle injury high on Cadair Idris. Due to the location, difficult terrain and approaching darkness, Rescue Helicopter 387 was requested. The casualty was airlifted and handed over to the Ambulance Service, while team members also assisted the remainder of the walking group safely off the mountain.

On 26 August Aberdyfi and South Snowdonia Search & Rescue Teams worked together to rescue a walker who suffered an ankle injury and was unable to continue. Following treatment on the hill, a combined stretcher party completed a long and technical carry down to Minffordd. On 29 August the team was placed on standby following concern for an abandoned 999 call. Contact was later established, confirming there was no emergency and no further action was required.

Throughout these incidents, volunteers dedicated over 240 rescuer-hours to helping those in need, at short notice and in challenging conditions.
