A HEROIN addict who admitted stealing £80 when he burgled his brother’s home has been jailed for six months.

A restraining order was also made for a year to stop Joseff Buckley, 40, unemployed, of Manod Road, Blaenau Ffestiniog, contacting the brother or his father. He must repay the missing cash and £200 costs.

Buckley was also banned from driving for 15 months after he admitted taking an Audi and driving while disqualified.

Prosecutor Sheyanne Lee told magistrates at Llandudno that Buckley’s father had contacted police in January to report that his addict son had taken his Audi and travelled towards Barmouth.

Then earlier this month the burglary occurred while the defendant’s brother Samuel was away.

The defendant’s knitted hat had been found, the prosecutor added.

Defence solicitor Sion Hughes said: “This is a particularly sad case where a family member has been affected by addiction to illegal substances.”

His father’s car and brother’s van were taken and returned undamaged.

“He’s disappointed he has done this to his brother. He’s very remorseful,” the solicitor remarked.
