Police are appealing for witnesses after two pedestrians were seriously injured following a ‘hit and run’ on Saturday night.

The collision occurred in Morfa Nefyn on Saturday night (18 September).

Shortly before 9.20pm officers received a report of a one-vehicle collision on the B4412. The vehicle collided with two pedestrians before leaving the scene.

Officers attended and the man and woman were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor by ambulance where they remain with serious injuries.

The following day officers located the vehicle and arrested the male driver on suspicion of several driving offences including causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving whilst unfit through drugs.

The 25-year-old local man has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Roads Policing Unit is appealing for witnesses.

He said: “We are asking anybody who may have been travelling along the B4412 just prior to the collision, and who may have dash cam, to contact us.”
