Armed police cordoned off an Aberystwyth street yesterday afternoon following concerns for a man’s welfare.

Officers rushed to the scene on Cambrian Street in Aberystwyth at around 1.30pm following reports of concern for the welfare of a man on the street.

A spokesperson for Dyfed Powys Police said: “Armed response officers were among those to attend but were stood down.

“The man was assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital.

“No-one was injured and no offences were committed. The scene was cleared by 4pm.”
