Three people have been arrested on suspicion of shoplifting over £3,000 worth of goods in Aberystwyth.

Three people were arrested and charged with theft after the vehicle they were travelling in was stopped in Llandrindod Wells on yesterday (Thursday), police said.

Officers said they found items worth £3,731 in the boot of a vehicle that they said are linked to a shoplifting incident in Aberystwyth.

The Radnorshire Division of Dyfed-Powys Police tweeted photos of the stop and said: “Travelling criminals stopped in Llandrindod Wells with £3,731 worth of stolen goods recovered.

“A great stop with three persons arrested and charged for the offences showing great teamwork from Response, NPT and ARV officers.”
