Bala Fire Station has blocked the shortcut between the station entrance and the Green Car Park following safety concerns.

A Fire Service trailer has been put there “as a safety measure to help prevent accidents and protect members of the public,” the station said.

They are concerned about young people cycling across the station entrance and being hit by vehicles, members of the public walking close to or past fire appliances while crews are carrying out their duties, and members of the public attempting to drive through the restricted space.

“We appreciate that this may cause some inconvenience, but the closure is intended to reduce the risk of an accident and ensure the safety of everyone using the area,” a station spokesperson said.
