BEACHGOERS are being advised to keep an eye out for washed up explosives after the bomb squad was called to Ynyslas this weekend.

A bomb disposal unit came from Herefordshire was called to Ynyslas beach on Saturday after yet another World War 2 ordnance that was found on the beach.

The ordnance was destroyed through a controlled explosion on the beach.

Following the drama on the sand, Dyfi Ynyslas Visitor Centre, which is run by Natural Resources Wales, is advising beachgoers to report any suspicious items that wash up on shore.

In a social media post, Dyfi Ynyslas Visitor Centre said: “If you find suspicious looking ordnance – do not touch it – phone 999, ask for the coastguard and give your location.”
