The RNLI boathouse in Barmouth opened its doors last Saturday to celebrate its annual Blue Light Day.

Organised by PCSO David Hughes, there were stalls, displays and demonstrations from North Wales Police, HM Coastguard, South Snowdonia Search and Rescue, Wales Air Ambulance, RSPB, Welsh Hearts/Calonnau Cymru and the RNLI.

During the fun-packed afternoon, children were allowed to sit in a real fire engine and try on firefighters’ helmets.

One of the highlights was a display by North Wales Police of the use of drones, which proved invaluable in the recent gorse fires across the region.
