The body of a man discovered in the search for Frantisek ’Frankie’ Morris has been formally identified as that of the missing 18-year-old.

Frankie, from Llandegfan on Anglesey, was reported missing on 2 May.

On Thursday, the body of a man was found in woodland near Caerhun on the outskirts of Bangor.

Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team, who are based in Porthmadog, assisted in the search for Frankie.

Frankie’s death is not being treated as suspicious and his family, who have asked for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time, are being supported by specialist officers, North Wales Police said.

Chief Inspector Owain Llewellyn said: “Our thoughts are naturally with Frankie’s family. This was an extensive and prolonged search and I would like to thank everyone who assisted us over the last five weeks.”

Frankie’s mother said: “On behalf of the family I’d like to thank everyone involved in the search for Frankie in particular the local community.

"Frankie was very much loved and will be dearly missed. I would be grateful if we could now be given privacy to grieve in this difficult time.”
