FIREFIGHTERS were called to extinguish a car fire at Aberystwyth Marina on Saturday morning.

Crews from the town fire station responded at 8.50am on Saturday, 30 April, after the marina car park was filled with plumes of smoke from a car which was well alight.

No injuries were reported in the fire and police were also in attendance to make the scene safe before firefighters left the scene at 9.28am.

In a separate incident a man was hospitalised following a house fire in Aberystwyth town centre last week.

Crews from Aberystwyth Fire Station were called to a house fire in Baker Street at 7.38pm on Thursday, 28 April, where they found a kitchen fire had spread to the room above.

The crew used hose reel jets, thermal imaging cameras and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire, and one man was conveyed to Bronglais Hospital where he was treated for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters left the scene at 8.54pm
